Campus LifeNearly 70 percent of Carthage students live on campus, allowing for extensive entertainment, educational programming, and weekend activities. Carthage students play as hard as they work. The Campus Activities Board plans a robust schedule of on-campus entertainment, including first-run movies, and top musical and comedic performers such as American Brass, Chanticleer, Dave Chappelle, Darrell Hammond, Jamie Kennedy, Bobby Collins, The Juilliard String Quartet, Wendy Liebman, London Brass, Kevin Nealon, and John Pinette. Special "WOW" concerts have showcased prominent rock musicians. Most recently, the Carthage community was treated to the music of Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter John Mayer. Other concerts have featured Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, Art Alexakis of Everclear, The Gufs, Live, Bob Dylan, Nine Days, and Dishwalla. WOH's Place, an alcohol-free pub, is a campus gathering place where you can enjoy large screen television, computers, pool tables, and an awesome sound system. Donna's Bytes is a popular 24-hour cyber-cafe, where students can enjoy Einstein Bros® bagels and coffees, Frëshens® smoothies, and Internet access through numerous network data ports. The A. W. Clausen Center for World Business includes a Starbucks® coffee shop, providing food and beverage on the north end of campus. |
