Academic OneFile - Contains peer-reviewed, fulltext articles from more than 8400 academic journals and reference sources, as well as fulltext New York Times content back to 1995. It offers extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature, and more.

 
Academic Search Elite (EBSCOhost) - Indexes and abstracts over 3300 journals in the humanities, social sciences, education, etc. Over 2000 journals are full text.
 
CQ Electronic Library - CQ Electronic Library provides access to CQ Researcher Online and CQ Weekly.  CQ Researcher provides in-depth coverage of political and social issues, with regular reports on topics in health, education, the environment, technology, the U.S. economy and international affairs.  CQ Weekly covers what is happening in the U.S. Congress, including the status of bills, votes, committee activity, backroom maneuvering , etc.
 
Clase/Periódica  -  CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American and Caribbean social science and humanities journals, while PERIÓDICA covers science and technology journals. They offer access to more than 300,000 bibliographic citations (no abstracts) from over 2,600 scholarly journals.
 
Dissertation Abstracts - Covers dissertations completed in U.S. institutions from 1861 to present.

FirstSearch Databases
 
General OneFile (InfoTrac) - Indexes 8500 periodical and news information titles, with 4900 fulltext, from general interest, academic and law journals, business and technology publications, health care periodicals, newspapers and newswire services, from 1980 to present.
 
HAPI: Hispanic American Periodicals Index - Subject/author index to articles, bibliographies, documents, literary works, and reviews on U.S. Hispanics and on Latin America, 1970-. HAPI contains some fulltext links and can be limited by Spanish or English language.
 
HLAS Online - The Handbook of Latin American Studies is a bibliography on Latin America.  Each year over 5,000 works are selected for inclusion in the Handbook.  Disciplines covered are anthropology, art, economics, electronic resources, geography, government and politics, international relations, literature, music, philosophy, and sociology.
 
IngentaConnect - Indexes over 27,000 periodicals in the physical and applied sciences, humanities, and social sciences.  There is no full text.
 
JSTOR - Provides access to over 200 full text scholarly journals in the social sciences and humanities, including mathematics, statistics, economics and finance, and ecology.  List of JSTOR journals.
 
LexisNexis - Provides full text coverage of numerous publications in the areas of business, government, law, medicine, and U.S. and international news.  Also provides full text coverage of the New York Times from 1980 to present.
 
MasterFile Premier (EBSCOhost) - Indexes and abstracts over 2600 periodicals and provides full text coverage for over 1900 periodicals covering general reference, health, science, and other areas.
 
Newspapers - Various newspaper databases and links to individual national and international newspapers.
 
Project MUSE - Provides access to over 220 full text humanities and social science journals published by Johns Hopkins University.  List of Project MUSE journals.
 
Sage Premier - Sage Publications publishes over 460 journals in business, humanities, social sciences and science, technology and medicine, generally available from 1999 to present. Most articles have fulltext. Use advanced search to combine more than one term from the article title, author, journal name, keywords, or date published.

Grove Dictionary of Art Online - Contains 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts — painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts and photographs — from prehistory to the present day.
 
Grove Music Online - Grove Music Online comprises the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2nd ed., 2001; The New Grove Dictionary of Opera, 1992; and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, 2nd ed., 2002.  Articles that have been updated since their appearance in print are date-stamped in the upper right corner of the screen.
 

Music Index - The Music Index is a comprehensive guide to music periodical literature, including every aspect of the classical and popular world of music. Available in print since 1949; online, from 1976 to present.

 
RILM Abstracts of Music Literature - Contains nearly 500,000 records in over 20 languages.  It indexes articles, books, bibliographies, conference proceedings, dissertations, Festschriften, videos, etc.

ATLA Religion Database (American Theological Library Association) - ATLA covers Biblical studies, world religions, church history, and religious perspectives on social issues from 1949 to present.
 
MLA Bibliography - Contains bibliographic records relating to literature, language, linguistics, poetry and folklore from 1963 to present.

AGRICOLA (Agricultural OnLine Access) - A database created by the National Agricultural Library.
 
American Chemical Society Publications - Provides access to 34 full text chemistry journals.  From the ACS Publication page, click on "Select a Title" under Journals and Magazines.  Then click on any of the listed titles to enter that journal's web site.
 
Basic BIOSIS (FirstSearch) - Indexes over 300 basic core like journals from the most current five years.
 
Biology Digest (FirstSearch) - Indexes life science information from over 300 sources from 1989 to present.
 
EBSCO Animals - Provides access to abstracts and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.
 
GEOBASE - Provides information on geography, geology and ecology from over 2000 sources from 1980 to present.
 
GreenFILE - Bibliographic database of information about environmental concerns, such as global warming, energy conservation, natural resources, and pollution, going back more than 35 years. Some fulltext.
 
Health Source - Consumer Edition - Contains information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.  Indexes over 205 publications and provides full text for over 190 journals.
 
Health Source - Nursing/Academic Edition - Indexes and abstracts nearly 650 journals in many medical disciplines; nearly 600 titles are full text.
 
MEDLINE - World's largest biomedical database containing over 8 million references to journal articles in all areas of medicine and related disciplines from 1966 to present.  Search the database of MEDLINE journal title abbreviations and their corresponding full titles.
 
STN Easy - STN ( Scientific and Technical Information Network) provides access to various chemical databases.
 
The Social Sciences
 
Business and Company Resource Center - Contains company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals.
 
Business & Management Practices - Contains articles on the practical aspects of business management.
 
Business Source Elite (EBSCOhost) - Indexes and abstracts over 1700 business and business related titles, and provides full text for over 1100 titles.
 
The Chronicle of Higher Education is the leading news and job-information source for college and university faculty members, administrators, and students. Members of the Carthage community can access Chronicle services, including a fully searchable archive since 1989, browseable past issues since 1995, advanced search facilities, and Colloquy, an open forum on educational issues.
 
Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) publishes theory and research in international affairs from 1991 onward, including working papers, policy briefs, case studies, books, and journals, with some full text.
 
Contemporary Women's Issues (FirstSearch) - Provides access to full text information on women from over 150 countries from the disciplines of psychology, health, education, and human rights.
 
Corporate Resource Net - Provides full text articles from more than 1300 quality magazines and journals as well as detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies.
 
Criminal Justice Abstracts - Contains comprehensive coverage of international journals, books, reports, dissertations and unpublished papers on criminology and related disciplines, with coverage from 1968 to present.
 
EconLit  -  Indexes journal articles, books, and working papers dealing with economics.  Contains more than 700,000 records with coverage from 1969 to present.
 
Education Research Complete - Coverage ranges from early childhood to higher education, and such specialties as multilingual education, health education, and testing. Indexes and abstracts 1,820+ journals, as well as providing full text for numerous journals, books, and conference papers.
 
ERIC - Indexes and abstracts over 1000 educational journals and other education material from Educational Resources Information Center.
 
Ethnic NewsWatch - Full text database covering newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press.
 
General Business File (InfoTrac) - Indexes and abstracts over 900 business and trade journals, of which one-third are full text.
 
GPO Monthly Catalog - The GPO covers a variety of U.S. government documents, including congressional reports, hearings, and records, judiciary materials, and documents issued by executive departments. Coverage is from 1976 to present.
 
LISTA - Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts indexes more than 600 periodicals and other materials, back as far as the mid-1960s. Subjects include librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more.
 
MAS Ultra - School Edition - Designed for high school libraries, this database provides full text for some 600 general interest and current events publications, including photos, maps and flags.
 
Middle Search Plus - Provides full text for over 150 magazines for middle school and junior high research.  Each article is assigned a reading level indicator.
 
Military & Government Collection - Offers current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government; provides cover to cover full text for nearly 400 journals and periodicals, and indexing and abstracting for more than 500 titles.
 
Primary Search - Provides full text for some 60 popular magazines for elementary school research.
 
ProQuest Education Journals - This database provides full text coverage for almost 400 leading journals in the field.  It covers not only the literature on primary, secondary and higher education, but also special education, home schooling, adult education, and hundreds of related topics.
 
PsycARTICLES - Contains more than 40,000 articles from 53 journals from 1985 to present.
 
PsycINFO - Indexes over 4400 publications, including 1700 journals, books, and other publications in psychology and related fields, including information on the psychological and social aspects of human behavior, medicine, physical disorders, etc., from 1872 to present.
 
Regional Business News - Full text coverage for 75 regional business publications from all metropolitan and rural areas in the United States.
