If you are a work study student as determined by the Office of Student Financial Planning, you will be placed in a position to earn the amount of your award.
If you are not a work study student, there is no formal placement for jobs. You may inquire at the Office of Student Financial Planning regarding departments that are hiring.
As a new student employee, you should report to your supervisor for training, keep an accurate account of your hours, and turn in your authorized time sheet to your supervisor according to the dates listed under Payroll Schedule as Time Sheet Due Date. Approved and signed timesheets can only be submitted to the Business Office by supervisors, not students.
All new student employees must complete the required tax forms (I9 and W4) before starting their employment. No checks will be issued until these forms are complete.
Contact Carole Forgianni, extension 6004 in the Business Office for forms, questions, and instructions. Return completed forms only to Carole Forgianni.
Student Payroll is distributed on the 1st work day of each month in the Business Office. You must bring a picture ID to pick up your check.
At the end of the year, if you want your check mailed, bring a self addressed envelope to the Business Office, Attention: Carole Forgianni.

If you claim “EXEMPT” from federal and/or state withholding you must leave the allowance box blank. To increase federal and/or state tax withholding, decrease the number of allowances. To decrease federal and/or state withholding, increase the number of allowances.

Exempt – Check “No.” International Nonresident Alien employees cannot claim exempt for either Federal or State tax. Note: If you receive money that should be tax free under a tax treaty, complete either Form W-8BEN and see instructions if payment is a Fellowship or Form 8233. if payment is for wages. The appropriate Revenue Procedure Statement 87-8 or 87-9 must also be completed and
submitted with Form 8233.
