Welcome!
NOTE: Due to changes taking place in the student loan industry, please contact the lender to be sure of terms for Stafford, PLUS
and Alternative loans. The terms of the loan are set as of the date the loan is certified by the school. We begin certifying Alternative and PLUS loans in June and
begin certifying Stafford loans in August.
NOTE: At this time, 2% of Stafford loans borrowed will not disburse to Carthage. Most lenders keep a 1% origination fee and the federal
guarantor keeps a 1% guarantor fee. Also, 4% of the PLUS loans borrowed will not disburse to Carthage. The lenders are keeping a 3% origination fee and
the guarantor keeps a 1% guarantor fee. These fees are the reason anticipated aid figures on your billing statement are different than figures on your financial
aid award letter. Be sure to consider this in calculating your payment plan.
NOTE: Due to changes in federal rules, beginning with the 2008-2009 academic year, the Office of Student Financial Planning is requiring we
receive an acceptance form for all federal loans. This form is the second page of your financial aid award letter. Please be sure your student has signed the
acceptance form and returned it to Carthage.
Welcome to the Office of Student Financial Planning at Carthage. We are committed to providing you with the most up-to-date information regarding
scholarships, grants, employment opportunities, and loan processing.
