Recently confirmed by Guinness World Records, Bryce Martin ’10 now holds the record for largest LEGO brick word.

Mr. Martin spent approximately 20 hours over two days in June building the word in Hedberg Library. The completed design was 11.5 feet long and made out of an astounding 23,621 brick pieces.

Although built single-handedly, the word was constructed as a tribute to community and cooperation, as shown in its spelling of “Together.”

The word “Together” first stuck out to Mr. Martin when it was incorporated in Carthage’s mission statement, announced the same year of his graduation, “Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together.”

“Together” was also chosen in reference to the combined efforts of the healthcare workers who worked relentlessly during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
