Carthage has more than 130 student clubs and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform customer service. Centrique

Centrique, Carthage’s student-published art and literary magazine, is published each year with a collection of writings and artworks submitted throughout the school year. Pieces are judged and awarded in a variety of areas. Centrique is currently celebrating its 40th year.

The Current

The Current is Carthage’s student-run news website and biweekly news magazine. It affords students the opportunity to develop as graphic designers, reporters, photographers, and business managers. It is open to students of all majors and encourages individual initiative and involvement.

DRAFT

DRAFT is the Carthage chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Art. Members of this student organization build their portfolios, network, attend studio tours, and actively critique one another’s work. Each semester, they organize exhibitions to display their work. The group also pursues work with real clients.

Lambda Pi Eta — Chi Chi Chapter

Lambda Pi Eta is the premier nationally-recognized communication honor society. It was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas, became associated with the National Communication Association in 1988, and was designated the official honor society of NCA in July 1995. Currently, Lambda Pi Eta has more than 400 collegiate chapters. The goals of Lambda Pi Eta are to recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies; stimulate interest in the field of communication; promote and encourage professional development among communication majors; provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication; establish and maintain closer relationships and mutual understanding between faculty and students; and explore options for graduate education in communication studies.

Public Relations Student Society of America

Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) launched our Carthage chapter in the spring of 2019, joining more than 300 national chapters. PRSSA gives students the opportunity to meet and discuss current PR issues, network with PR professionals from the Chicago and Milwaukee areas, and to learn about internships and job opportunities available in public relations.
