CCMUN typically participates in two Model UN conferences a year. Carthage students represent a specific country at each Model United Nations conference. To prepare for these conferences, students must conduct research and learn everything they can about the country they represent as well as certain topics that they will discuss at the conference.
CCMUN attends the American Model UN (AMUN) conference every fall. CCMUN attended its first international conference in Bucharest, Romania — the Bucharest International Student Model United Nations (BISMUN) — in Spring 2015. In 2016 students went abroad again and participated in the Model of United Nations of Universidad de los Andes (MONUA) in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2017 students attended ScotMUN in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2018, students attended the North American Model United Nations (NAMUN) in Toronto, Canada, and the Israeli Model United Nations Association (IMUNA) Conference in Herzliya (near Tel Aviv), Israel. And in 2019, students attended the Amsterdam University College Model United Nations (AUCMUN) conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands. CCMUN also holds an on-campus fundraiser each spring. These fundraisers raise campus awareness of current international situations. Profits are donated to a charity or non-governmental organization.
