All of your college course materials at an affordable price!

All full-time Carthage undergraduate students pay a flat fee of $182 per semester for all their required textbooks and course materials.

Carthage Slingshot logo In partnership with Slingshot, the College’s textbook and campus bookstore provider, Carthage automatically enrolls students in the Equitable Access Program. Students pay a single rate for all books and course materials.

The program charges the fee to each student’s account, allowing students to pay for their materials with their financial aid (such as grants, loans, and scholarships) instead of paying out-of-pocket.

Easy. Affordable. Predictable.

Carthage’s Equitable Access Program is open to all full-time undergraduate students regardless of major, format of materials, or financial aid status.

What’s included?

The program provides students with all the course materials they need, including:

  • Scrubs/PPE
  • Art supplies
  • Scientific calculators
  • Coursepacks
  • Textbooks

How it works

The Equitable Access Program is like a Netflix subscription: Students receive all their materials for one low, predictable fee — regardless of financial aid status, academic program, learning format, or how much is required. These materials will be provided in the lowest cost format as a mix of physical and digital items, or students can choose a print upgrade option to secure only physical materials for a small additional fee.

Carthage’s partnership with Slingshot was announced in December 2023. Read the announcement and FAQs.
