Nate Myers ?23 Student Recital ?Cowboy's Don't Cry? Nate Myers ’23 will perform his recital “Cowboys Don’t Cry,” after the song by Oliver Tree with the same title, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Campbell Student Union Auditorium.

For many of his pieces, Nate will be accompanied by Professor Melissa Cardamone on the piano, Luke Eidsor ’23 and Sophie Shulman ’23 on guitar, and Adam Blackwood ’24 on drums. Nate will also be joined for some of his pieces by guest singers Nicholas Dekker ’25 and Angel Palladini ’23.

Nate and his company will open his performance with “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Following this, he will give a solo performance of “All of Me” by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons, “Moon River” by Henry N. Mancini and Johnny Mercer, and “It Only Takes a Moment” by Jerry Herman. 

Prof. Cardamone will return to accompany Nate for a series of theatrical pieces, including “One Song Glory” from “Rent,” “Good Thing Going” from “Merrily We Roll Along,” and “At the Fountain” from “Sweet Smell of Success.” Then, the full company will return for “Bitch is Back” by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, “Moonage Daydream” by David Bowie, “Hard To Handle” by Otis Redding, “You May Be Right” by Billy Joel, and the titular piece “Cowboys Don’t Cry” by Oliver Tree.

The second half of the recital will consist of pieces written by Nate himself under the tutelage of Professor Mark Petering, including works such as “Famous People Shit” and “A Million Dreams” from “Working Title;” “Leading Mans Lament” from “Fake Sex: A Musical Farce;” and “Where Were You,” “Twenty Years From Now,” “Entrance To Space,” “Hello,” and “Little Red Speed Machine” from “Hello,” joined by various members of his company throughout. To end the performance, Nate and his company will perform “Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy” by Big Kenny and John Rich.

This recital is free and open to the public. The concert is also viewable from home through our livestream.
