Carthage students attend a Model UN conference in Chicago.
All Stories

Have you ever wanted to play a part in solving pressing global issues? Learn how by joining the Carthage Model United Nations (MUN). You’ll have the opportunity to put your diplomacy skills to the test at a conference this spring!

About the Model United Nations

MUN is an authentic simulation of the United Nations and its bodies. At conferences, members act as delegates of a country while discussing and debating a wide range of topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and other issues of international importance. MUN is open to all majors; the only requirement is an interest in international issues and a willingness to express your ideas.

Spring conference

New members are eligible to attend our spring domestic conference held Thursday, March 23 through Saturday, March 25 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Anyone can attend this conference, regardless of level of experience or prior involvement in our organization. Additionally, we will thoroughly prepare members ahead of the conference and make sure they’re comfortable with how a MUN conference works.

Weekly meetings

As an organization, we meet at 5 p.m. Mondays, in the Niemann Media Theater (located in the lower level of the Hedberg Library). Our first meeting of the spring semester will be held Monday, Feb. 13. We hope to see you there!
