All Stories

Join us in celebrating Sam Pardo ’23 in her senior thesis recital, “How Ephemeral Was Our Encounter,” at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, in the A. F. Siebert Chapel.

“How Ephemeral Was Our Encounter” is a thematic recital that explores the highs and lows of following your passion, from infatuation to devastation and back to exploration. Weaving songs of four different languages and various genres into one cohesive story, Sam captures her own endeavors of experimentation and reflection during her time at Carthage. She will perform songs in Italian, French, German, and English that she feels best represent her experiences, sharing what she loves most.

Sam will be accompanied by pianists Professor Melissa Cardamone and Jiayi Geng ’24, as well as her band, The Gator Tots, and members of the Carthage Jazz Ensemble.

The program will include the following pieces:

  • “Here, There and Everywhere” — John Lennon and Paul McCartney
  • “Nel cor più non mi sento from La Molinara” — Giovanni Paisiello
  • “Se tra l’erba and Quando ti rivedrò” — Stefano Donaudy
