Career goal
“I hope to work in an emergency department as a registered nurse.”
Favorite class
“My favorite class at Carthage has been my Issues in Living and Dying class. I was nervous to take this class at first, but it ended up being one of the most valuable classes for my nursing career. I was also able to get to know Professor Sandra Bisciglia, and that made the class that much better.”
Campus involvement
“I am on the Carthage Women’s Swim Team. It is very nice to be able to have this outlet for myself. The friendships I have gained from this team will last a lifetime.”
Internships or on-campus employment
“This past summer, I was a student nurse extern at Northwestern Delnor Hospital. I was able to get this position because of the skills I gained through my Carthage clinical. I was able to learn so much in one summer, which makes me excited for the future!”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite spot on campus is The Tower. I love going there to do homework with my friends!”
Biggest surprise so far
“The biggest surprise so far has been the number of new relationships I have been able to develop. I have met so many great professors as well as gained so many new friendships!”
Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?
“Students should consider nursing if they have a passion for helping others. People looking to go into this major also need to be hardworking. Some advice that I would give is not to get discouraged and remember why you want to be a nurse because it will be worth it in the end!”
Why Carthage?
“I choose Carthage because of all the academic and athletic opportunities that they have to offer. The nursing program has great professors that support their student’s learning and share their passion for nursing. I am also able to be a student-athlete which has helped me make so many great connections here on campus and in the community.”
