Carthage dance team to compete in Chicago

The Carthage Firebirds dance team will end their 2022-23 season Saturday, Feb. 18, at Concordia University Chicago, where they will compete against other CCIW and Chicagoland collegiate teams.

Led by director Amy Malczewski, coaches Stephanie Van Wieringen’18 and Bre Reynolds ’21, and captains Emilee Klemm ’23 and Ellie Behnke ’24, the team is taking two routines and competing for championships in both hip hop and jazz. In addition to team competition, Alisa Wilbert ’24, Lauren Hacker ’24, and Ella Lorfing ’26 will compete with their own jazz solos.

As a newly recognized club sport, the dance team has this opportunity to compete for the first time in almost 10 years. It is a great year to be part of Firebird Spirit.
