Future of Africa

The purpose of the Future of Africa organization shall be to improve the educational environment of the Nkume Primary School in South Africa. As time progresses, the club’s purpose may expand or evolve to help other African schools and communities. This club will raise money to help specific African schools/communities and will craft policies concerning how to utilize the money most effectively. Summer trips to these specific African schools/communities will be planned to personally spend the funds generated and enact policies that were planned during the academic year at Carthage. The core purpose is to foster a stronger relationship with Africa and to improve the opportunities for its youth. Doing so will broaden the horizons of African students and will help foster a better, brighter, and more prosperous future for Africa and the world.

Black Student Union

The Black Student Union (BSU) is here to provide a safe and welcoming home-away-from-home to the African American population here on campus. While educating the community about culture, they hold various events and discussions throughout the year in order to assist in achieving an empowering commonality.
