Carthage offers a minor in interfaith studies. To earn a degree from Carthage, students must complete the Carthage Core, Distribution Requirements, their major requirements, and the interfaith studies minor requirements listed below. 

Interfaith Studies Minor

Required Courses (4 credits)
  • REL 1000 Understandings of Religion (4 credits)
Choose Five (20 credits)

Two courses (8 credits) must be taken from Category I, two courses (8 credits) must be taken from Category II, and one course (4 credit) from Category III.

  • REL 2220 Jesus Beyond Christianity (4 credits)
  • REL 3500 Shared Sages in Sacred Scriptures: An Interreligious Exploration (4 credits)
  • REL 3510 Christians and Muslims: Conflict vs Dialogue (4 credits)

Category II (8 credits)

  • REL 2000 History of Christian Thought (4 credits)
  • REL 3100 Judaism (4 credits)
  • REL 3110 Hinduism (4 credits)
  • REL 3120 Islam (4 credits)
  • REL 3130 Buddhism (4 credits)
  • REL 3150 The Sikhs (4 credits)

Category III (4 credits)
