Carthage has more than 130 student groups and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform community service. See a full list of Carthage student organizations on The Harbor, our website for student organizations. The following student organizations are popular with musical theatre students.

Alpha Psi Omega

Alpha Psi Omega is an honors society for students interested in theatre. Membership is based on a student’s departmental GPA and the amount of theater classes taken. Alpha Psi Omega students participate in theatre activities and events throughout the year and encourage each other to learn more about theatre inside and outside of Carthage.

Merely Players

The Merely Players are Carthage College’s only improv comedy troupe. They regularly put on shows for college students to keep them laughing. They are entirely student-run and have been going strong for 27 years. Merely Players hold open auditions to join once a semester and have no limit on how many members they will take. If you are interested in joining Merely Players, please contact them via Facebook, Twitter, and/or email.
