Brandon Rook joined the Office of Communications as public relations manager Oct. 29

It is with pleasure that I write to announce that Brandon Rook will join the Marketing and Communications team as public relations manager, effective Oct. 29.

From his years in the news business, Brandon is a skilled storyteller. An award-winning journalist, Brandon comes to Carthage most recently from TMJ-4 Milwaukee, where he served as a reporter for the station, covering general news, as well as investigative pieces. In this capacity, Brandon reported on Carthage a number of times.

Prior to joining TMJ-4, Brandon was a multimedia journalist at WATE 6 in Knoxville, TN, where he shot, wrote, edited daily stories for the station, managed social media channels, and received the East Tennessee Gold Press Card Award for his work.

Previous experience as a multimedia journalist at WTVY News 4 in Dothan, AL, included covering four counties in Florida, while writing, shooting and editing daily content.

Brandon is a member of the Wisconsin Black Media Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the National Broadcasting Society, and the Society of Professional Journalists. He received his M.A. in Journalism from the University of Mississippi, and his B.S. in Mass Communications from Alcorn State University.
