Trust and Demand: A Panel Discussion on the Supply Chain Crisis
Carthage College’s Business and Professional Coalition presented its final event of the year, “Trust and Demand: A Panel Discussion on the Supply Chain Crisis,” during a networking luncheon in early May.
Carthage professor of management and marketing, Mark Mrowiec, chaired a lively panel of logistics and supply chain executives, with combined expertise across a wide range of industries, including trucking, packaging, and refrigerated and perishable transportation.
The event served as an opportunity for businesses, professionals, and students to better understand the current supply chain landscape in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the changing nature of the supply-demand relationship.
The panelists included Steven Bauer, senior vice president at Haribo; Glenn Quaiver, vice president of distribution for ULINE; Patrick Simmons, vice president of transportation for Tyson Foods; and Professor Doug Voss, professor of logistics and supply chain management at the University of Central Arkansas.
The mission of the Carthage Business and Professional Coalition is to convene members of the area’s business and professional communities around relevant topics that promote learning, conversation, and relationship-building, in order to lead to a stronger and more vibrant community.
“Carthage College is a vital partner to industry, not-for-profits, and government in the Chicago-to-Milwaukee corridor,” President Swallow says. “The College works to align our educational programs with the needs of our local and regional communities.”
