Disney's Epcot Center Disney's Epcot Center In this study tour, students will discover plants and animals while hiking in wildlife reserves and kayaking in mangroves, explore the plants of coastal ecosystems near Cocoa Beach, visit the NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center and learn how plants adapt to space, and explore Epcot by taking a “behind the seeds” tour of their greenhouses.

Students will also visit the plant biology labs at Kennedy Space Center and shadow scientists in their lab spaces for two days. If you’ve ever seen the movie “The Martian,” these are the actual labs where research for growing plants in outer space is performed. Most people don’t get to step foot in this part of the space center, but Carthage students will have that opportunity in this course.
