Raghad Al Dirani presents master’s thesis

Raghad Ali Al Dirani, French TLE, presented her master’s thesis lesson plan methodology at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee on March 2.

The conference was organized by the MidWest Association for Language Learning Technology.

Her thesis, “Applied Linguistics: Using Distributional Platforms to Teach Word Chunks,” focuses on how to engage students in the learning process of collocations such as tomber amoureux and faire les courses by using online corpora. The methodology can be applied to any level of language teaching. Raghad argues that this methodology improves students’ second language proficiency.
