Together, as Carthaginians,
WE DID IT AGAIN!

The philanthropic spirit of the Carthage community shone through in the 2024 Red & Ready Giving Days, an annual spring fundraising event that the College extended to 36 hours for the first time.

Alumni, parents, employees, students, and other supporters gave a total of 772 gifts between midnight March 14 and noon March 15. Surpassing Carthage’s goal of 750 donors, that unlocked an additional $250,000 “challenge” gift from the Board of Trustees.

The 2024 Red & Ready Giving Days featured a ?takeover? of The Caf during lunchtime March 14. Thanks to everyone’s generous support, Giving Days brought in more than $407,000 for student-centered programs and financial aid. All gifts count toward the College’s ongoing $100 million “Light that Travels” campaign.

Participants could designate their contributions for emergency assistance to students, a specific academic division, equity and inclusion, athletics (through the Champions Club), visual and performing arts, scholarships, and other emerging needs. All seven mini-challenges met fundraising goals, securing matching gifts from donors for targeted areas.

Providing a fun incentive to give, Carthage again offered donors the option to secure temporary naming rights for campus spaces and equipment. The campus celebration also featured a scavenger hunt and a wrap-up party for faculty and staff.

The shift from a one-day celebration to the new 36-hour format allowed extra time for the Firebird spirit to spread. Donations came in from 27 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, and 82 people registered as Giving Days ambassadors to promote the event.

Carthage also participates in GivingTuesday each fall. The nationwide charitable initiative is scheduled for Dec. 3, 2024.

Thank you to everyone who stepped forward, #RedandReady as ever, to ensure a transformative experience for our students!
