Prof. Rick Bingen ’15 finds success in playwriting

Prof. Rick Bingen Professor Rick Bingen ’15 graduated from Carthage with a double major in computer science and theatre. Over the last few years, he has turned his theatre focus toward playwriting.

Last year, Prof. Bingen’s first play, “Whirligig of Time,” premiered in Milwaukee. This year, “Whirligig of Time” has found new life and will be produced this June in Batavia, New York by the Batavia Players.

His new play, “The Memory Leak,” a computer science-themed drama, was a finalist in this year’s Wisconsin Wrights Play Contest and is also currently a semi-finalist in the Eugene O’Neill National Playwriting Contest. A staged reading of “The Memory Leak” will be produced in Milwaukee this August.
