Last day to visit the Annual Juried Student Art Show
The Art Department and the H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art presents the Annual Juried Student Art Show Wednesday, March 27. This exhibition is open to Carthage faculty, staff, and students only, and classes are welcome to make reservations to attend the exhibit.
Each year, all Carthage students are invited to submit artwork to be juried by a guest artist or critic. A breadth of media is represented in this exhibition, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, ceramics, video, audio, animation, and installations. This year’s guest juror was Lena Vigna, director of exhibitions at the Racine Art Museum.

Credit: Stewart Lilly ’24 At the opening reception on March 21, the following awards were presented:
Best of Show: S. Heard ’27 for a video and sound suite, entitled, “The Gay-llie Suit Experiment”
2nd Place: Lin Sensenbrenner ’25 for a ceramics, entitled “Tipsy”
3rd Place: Sophia Choronzuk ’25 for a mixed media artwork, entitled “Spotted”
Honorable Mentions: Carlyn Krautsak ’24, Kassidy Nader ’27, Maurico Rebollar-López ’25, and Neil DuJardin ’27
Purchase Awards
The Art Department’s Purchase Awards went to Kam White ’26, S. Heard ’27, Kassidy Nader ’27, Neil DuJardin ’27, and Sophia Salcido ’25. These students’ artworks will become part of the Student Art Collection exhibited in the hallways of the Johnson Art Gallery.
