What have you enjoyed most about your career?

“In both of my positions, I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to reach the unreachable, to hear the ones who are not being heard, and to help empower individuals who are looking for change.”

How did Carthage prepare you?

“The tools that I gained from the BDI program have been amazing in my line of work. I learned new material and tools at Carthage and implemented them at my job. I have seen a complete change in my work environment and business.”

How has your liberal arts education benefitted you?

“I was having issues with my staff and implementing changes in my facility. I was forcing change, which made my staff freeze and become none-compliant. After taking the BDI courses and learning different problem solving tools, I was able to involve the staff a lot more in the change process.”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

“Professor Jennifer Madden played such a big role in my success. She was very encouraging, resourceful, and helpful in every way possible.”

What role have the values in Carthage's mission, "Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together" played in your life?

“Carthage has pushed me to limits I have always been scared to face. The College put me in a position to evaluate myself as an individual and face things that I needed to improve. It also showed me things about myself I never knew were there. I appreciate all that Carthage has to offer and the opportunities with it. My growth has been amazing.”

Tips for current Carthage students?

“Really lean into what the program has to offer. Don’t doubt yourself with anything that is presented. Always try!”
