Carthage will celebrate the Class of 2024 during Commencement Weekend May 17-19, 2024. 

At Carthage’s 2024 Commencement, graduates will cross the graduation stage during the Red Carpet Procession with family members and guests present to cheer them on.

The Carthage Commencement Committee has reinvented Carthage graduation traditions and incorporated exciting new elements to create a unique graduation experience for the Class of 2024.

Baccalaureate Service

Friday, May 17- 4:00 pm
A. F. Siebert Chapel
The Baccalaureate Service is a long-standing tradition at Carthage for students, faculty, staff, and families that expresses our faith tradition in an open and welcoming way. Baccalaureate is an opportunity for graduates to pause, reflect, and celebrate the blessings of earning a degree in A. F. Siebert Chapel before the Commencement procession. No ticket is required.

Commencement Ceremony & Celebration

Friday, May 17 - 7:00 pm

For those who would like to experience the most traditional elements of commencement, this ceremony will include the procession of faculty and graduates, band and choral performances, remarks from Carthage’s president, faculty, distinguished alumni, and senior speaker, and the conferring of degrees. Following the ceremony, graduates and their families and friends are invited to a reception in the Todd Wehr Center! Each graduate has received two Commencement Ceremony tickets for guests. 

Commencement Red Carpet Processions

Saturday, May 18- School of Business and Economics, Natural and Social Sciences Division, Arts and Humanities Division
Sunday, May 19- Professional Studies Division
Graduates will begin their procession at the south doors of the JAC (South Upper Lot)
The procession at Carthage is a unique take on the traditional ceremony. Graduates will process through several campus buildings with family and friends culminating in a walk across the stage to receive their diploma. Students are assigned a date and time that aligns with others in the same academic division. Each graduate will receive eight Commencement Procession tickets for guests. Additional tickets are unavailable, and those without tickets will not be admitted.
