The Clausen Center has become increasingly active in sponsoring visitors on our own, and in collaboration with other institutes and programs at Carthage, especially in connection with campus-wide speakers. Sustained emphasis is being given by the Center to local and state, as well as national and foreign, government professionals.

Johnson Distinguished Visitors Program

Carthage has in place a strong established series of senior generally high-visibility visitors. The Johnson Distinguished Visitors Program is made possible through a generous endowment gift from Imogene and Samuel Johnson. Mr. Johnson led S.C. Johnson & Son as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1967 and retired as Chairman in 2000.

The Chapman Executive-in-Residence program brings prominent business leaders to campus to speak to students and the public. The program is endowed by Carthage Trustee Steven M. Chapman, Vice President and Group Vice President — China and Russia, Cummins Inc., who also served as the initial visiting executive.
