Access and see your bill

If you are a current Carthage student and would like to see specific information about your account, log into To view current balances students should select the “Finances” tab. This area can also be used to submit payment.

Do you need access to pay a student’s account?

Students can authorize parents, family members, and others to access their Nelnet accounts to see balances, view financial aid packages, and make payments. To give access to an authorized user, students must follow the following steps:

  • Log into and select the “Finances” tab, then “My Account Information / Pay My Bill.”
  • In the lower right-hand corner, click “Add authorized user.”
  • Fill in the person’s information. 

Important tuition due dates


  • 2% rebates due: June 30, 2022
  • Fall tuition due: July 28, 2022
  • Spring tuition due: Jan. 5, 2023

Make a payment

There are several ways to satisfy an outstanding balance on a student account:

Students have the ability to submit payments online through the Nelnet system at To access this option, students should log in to, select the “Finances” tab, then “My Account Information / Pay My Bill.”

On this page, students will have the option of making a payment in full, making a partial payment to pay down the balance, setting up a payment plan, or requesting a refund. The option to request a refund will only appear if a refund exists.

Students can visit the Red Desk in the Office of Student Financial Services, located in Lentz Hall Room 403, and make a payment by cash, check, or credit card.


Payments should be addressed to The Office of Student Financial Services, 2001 Alford Park Drive, Kenosha, WI. It is important that the student’s name and ID number accompany the check.


Students can make payments to Carthage College through a payment plan through their Nelnet account. Available payment plans are flexible to suit different family needs and can be found on

To find payment plans in, select the “Finances” tab, then “My Account Information / Pay My Bill.” From this page, students can select “Payment Plan,” which will connect students to their bill and the ability to create their payment plan. Students who are setting up their payment plan for the first time will need to register first before creating their payment plan.

Credit balance request

A credit balance results when the total credits posted to a student’s account exceed the total charges applied to the account for a specific term or semester. Students may choose to apply their credit balance to a subsequent term or receive a refund. Carthage College is required to obtain permission to hold any such credit balance to be applied to a subsequent term or semester. In the case of a PLUS loan, the refund will go to the parent unless otherwise specified on the PLUS application.

To initiate a refund request, students should log into their Nelnet account at, select the “Finances” tab, then “My Account Information / Pay My Bill.” For refunds, students should follow the instructions in the Nelnet system on the lower left-hand corner of the page. Credit balances appear as a negative number on the Nelnet homepage.
