Please note: Courses cannot be counted in more than one category. Variable content courses may be used in more than one category, but only if the topic/content is different.

For students majoring in studio art, art education, communication, graphic design, or public relations, overlap between majors and minors must be at or below 50 percent.

*The administration has asked us to do variable content courses so that we send fewer courses through the curriculum. It allows us to easily rotate classes and respond to a quickly changing field. We are not going with a ‘foundational’ model so much as a liberal arts ‘a la carte’ model which gives students choices to mix and match and create an education that meets their interests and passions.

Current students: You should follow the official College Catalog from the year you entered Carthage and work with your advisors and the Photography and Film and New Media Program director to ensure all requirements are met.
