Carthage has more than 130 student clubs and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform customer service. See a full list of Carthage student organizations on The Harbor, our website for student organizations.

German Club

German Club meets weekly to enrich the lives of students with the rich heritage of Germany, as well as educate each other on German culture and tradition. By taking trips to German-themed locations — such as Christkindlmarket in Chicago and Oktoberfest in Milwaukee — students gain a better understanding of the important role that Germany had played in the past and will play in the future. Students are not required to speak German or be taking German classes.

Alpha Mu Gamma

Alpha Mu Gamma is the National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society. The organization promotes language studies, cultural events, and community outreach. AMG offers many scholarships and is a great networking tool. Members attend the National Alpha Mu Gamma Conference and plan events for National Foreign Language Week.

International Friendship Society

International Friendship Society promotes diversity and cultural awareness on campus by hosting a variety of public events that include international food, music, dance, and more. The organization brings together international students studying at Carthage with American students in order to encourage cultural exchanges. The club’s most important event is the annual International Dinner, which raises money for a selected international nonprofit organization.
