Program Requirements

The Product Management for Manufactured Goods program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage existing products and the development and launch of new manufactured products. 

Students complete the certification program (14 credits) in the fall and have the option to continue the program in the spring to earn a master’s degree (for a total of 35 credits).

Certificate in Product Management for Manufactured Goods

The professional certification program provides three industry-recognized certifications: Microsoft Excel Certification, Six Sigma White Belt Certifications, and Product Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Ready Certification.

August
  • MGT 5500 Data Analytics and Excel Fundamentals (2 credits)
    Begin the program with a guided independent study to ensure proficiency in data analytics and Excel. This course fulfills a prerequisite for future courses. Complete the Microsoft Excel Certification Exam.
Fall — 1st 7 weeks
  • MGT 5501 Principles of Product Management for Manufactured Goods (3 credits)
  • MGT 5502 Project Management Fundamentals (3 credits)
Fall — 2nd 7 weeks

Master of Science in Product Management

To earn a Master of Science in Product Management, students must complete all required courses for the certification (shown above) and the courses listed below:
