About the Collection
The Center for Children’s Literature houses a collection of more than 25,000 children’s and young adult books.
The collection grows each year through the generosity of publishers that send books as complimentary review copies to the center’s director.
The collection includes more than 1,500 books of poetry, thanks to a generous gift in memory of Carthage alumna Joy Moldenhauer, given by Don Moldenhauer, her husband, and a Carthage alumnus. A new OmniLibros Collection of international books has been added in memory of June Ward, a long-time Kenosha Unified School District educator.
Also included are books significant in the history of children’s literature, award books, classics, artwork from children’s books, and books to use in support of K-12 school curricula.
