Blood Drives

Once each semester (fall and spring) the CFS Service Team coordinates a blood drive on campus with the Red Cross. Giving blood is one of the most selfless and life-giving acts. If you can’t give, you can always volunteer to check people in or help with hospitality with the donors who have just given.

Giving Tree

Every November the Giving Tree is set up in Siebert Chapel.  The college receives wish lists for children and families connected to the ELCA Outreach Center in Kenosha.  Students, staff and faculty “adopt” the children aand  purchase Christmas gifts which are delivered by the Outreach Center.

Winter and Year-End Food Drives

The CFS Food Drive supports our own Luther’s Lunchbox, as well as local community organizations, The Shalom Center and Grace Welcome Center. There is a lot of food that goes unused in our resident halls. Instead of throwing it away the CFS will collect it and give it to those in need in our community. Food must be unopened and can’t be expired.

Other Service Opportunities

The Service team has collaborated with student organizations and departments to provide hats, gloves and socks to the Hospitality Center in Racine.  January 2024 CFS hosted a two day “Carthage Serves” event where nearly 80 students, staff and faculty worked together to make 500 sacked lunches that were distributed to centers caring for the homeless and underserved in Kenosha and Racine.
