Knight Campus Graduate Internship Program Alumni Panel and Information Session Come meet Carthage alumni who have graduated from this nationally top-rated program while enjoying a pizza lunch.

The Knight Campus Graduate Internship Program at the University of Oregon is a great way to earn a master’s degree and launch your scientific career in industry! This unique applied science master’s program combines intensive lab and coursework with professional skills development to prepare you for a 9-month paid internship in industry. Historically, close to 98 percent of students successfully complete internships and close to 90 percent of those receive regular offers within three months of completing their internships.

In as little as 15 months, you get (before graduation) 9 months paid work experience (this year’s average, annualized internship salary is about $65,000) — plus a master’s degree in applied science!

Focus areas include molecular sensors, polymers, semiconductors and optics, and (new) bioinformatics! You will have a professional network that will provide the foundation for a career, along with a strong resume and understanding about what R&D industry is all about.

Even if you think you want a PhD, this program allows you to gain insight on what the marketplace is looking for — allowing you to be more strategic in choosing research that will allow you to build a marketable skill set and develop the professional skills that will make you more competitive. Regardless of which trail you eventually choose, this program allows you to do it with more data about the opportunities out there.
