Students in the Case Studies in Environmental Science course teach local sixth graders about strategies to reduce shoreline erosion. The event was organized by Professor Sarah Rubinfeld and the students in her Case Studies in Environmental Science course.

In the weeks leading up to this special visit, Carthage students learned about the rewards and challenges of environmental education and studied strategies for developing effective science outreach activities.

The students used these strategies to design three activities, focusing on erosion, filtration, and watersheds. Despite the chilly weather, the visitors were highly engaged and learned a lot about our local ecosystem.

Thanks to all of the students for their hard work planning and running this event!
