All undergraduate and graduate students planning to graduate during the 2023-24 academic year need to apply for program completion by Friday, Oct. 13.

If you have not yet submitted your program completion application, follow the steps below. If you are unsure whether your candidacy has been submitted, a confirmation email was sent on Oct. 2 to those who have already applied.

Steps to Apply for Program Completion

  1. Open Workday via OneLogin and search “Apply for Program Completion” in the main Workday search bar.
  2. Confirm your name and address.
  3. Check the “RSVP for Commencement” box if you plan to participate.
  4. Select the checkbox next to your primary program of study. All other declared programs will be bundled with your primary program as part of your submitted application.
  5. Enter the “Expected Completion Date” associated with your intended graduation term:
  • Fall 2023 — Dec. 13, 2023
  • J-Term 2024 — Jan. 26, 2024
  • Spring 2024 — May 18, 2024
  • Summer 2024 — Aug. 25, 2024

Note: You only need to update the expected completion date for your first program of study. The rest of the fields will autopopulate with the same date. Click the “Confirm” box, followed by the “Submit” button.

Below is a relative timeline for when you should expect to hear about your application:

Fall and J-Term Graduation Candidacy
If you are indicating an intent to finish your degree at the end of fall 2023 or J-Term 2024, you should expect to hear back in the upcoming weeks. If there are any concerns with your candidacy, we will email you and your faculty advisor directly. If your candidacy is accepted, you will also receive an email indicating you are on track for graduation at the time of review.

Spring and Summer Graduation Candidacy
If you are indicating an intent to finish your degree at the end of spring or summer 2024, you should expect to hear back between November and January. If there are any concerns with your candidacy, we will email you and your faculty advisor directly. If your candidacy is accepted, you will also receive an email indicating you are on track for graduation at the time of review.

Please be patient, as the graduation review process is a manual process that requires us to review each student’s records meticulously. In the meantime, if you anticipate a substitution, please work with your faculty advisor and the department chair to submit those to the Office of the Registrar as soon as possible.
