Karina Lee 19, M.Ed. ’20 returns to Carthage as guest speaker

This month, alumna Karina Lee ’19, M.Ed. ’20 returned to Carthage as a guest speaker in Professor Karin Sconzert’s Foundations of Urban Education class.

After sharing her journey as an urban educator, Ms. Lee shared advice on student teaching, becoming a teacher, and going to graduate school. She encouraged future teachers to “show up as [their] most authentic selves every day” so that their students can also show up to class as their most authentic selves.

She further described her experiences as a doctoral student, providing diversity training to fellow professionals. Carthage students left feeling inspired and encouraged about their future careers.
