2024 Commencement hotel blocks available
Carthage has planned a one-of-a-kind weekend to celebrate our graduates, including both Commencement traditions and new elements unique to our community.
At 4 p.m. Friday, May 17, we encourage families to join their student in a Baccalaureate Service that expresses our faith tradition in an open and welcoming way. Baccalaureate is an opportunity for graduates to pause, reflect, and celebrate the blessings of earning a degree before the Commencement Procession. No ticket is required.
The Commencement Ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday night is when graduates can participate in many traditional graduation elements. Students will have the opportunity to process with classmates and faculty, hear music performances and speeches, and turn their tassels with their academic division. A reception for graduates, their families, and faculty will follow. Graduates can attend with up to two guests.
On Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, graduates and up to eight guests participate in a final Commencement Red Carpet Procession, walking to several stations and ending in receiving their well-earned diploma (while their friends and family get a front-row seat!) and taking their first steps as proud Carthage alumni.
