The course — BIO/MLA Flora, Fauna, and Culture — fulfills the SE, CL, and ITL requirements. The study tour is co-led by professors Matt Borden (MLA) and Angela Dassow (BIO).

The course focuses on both biodiversity and culture. We will spend two weeks in Argentina exploring the local flora and fauna of various diverse locations and learn about the unique adaptations that exist in those niches. We will explore the evolutionary connections between organisms at each site. Along the way, we will also learn about the cultural significance of local flora and fauna and the role that these organisms have played in the lives of humans.

This course also provides experiential learning in cultural studies.
