English Department Creative Writing Contests: Submissions due Tuesday
Attention all creative writers!
Each year, as a memorial to professors M.E. Chapin, Wilma Tague, and Juanita Jones, the English Department awards three sets of prizes in fiction, non-fiction/hybrid prose, and poetry.
All students are invited to submit four poems, a single short story, or a work of creative nonfiction/hybrid prose. Students may submit in more than one genre but must fill out a separate submission form for each entry. Each prize carries a monetary award. A Faculty Board of Review will choose the winners.
Submission guidelines
All entries must be submitted by Tuesday, April 23 to Cynthia Welch at cwelch@carthage.edu. Late submissions will not be considered.
No name should appear anywhere on the manuscript. Your name should be filled in on the form below and emailed along with the submission. Please fill out a separate form for each genre in which you submit an entry.

The announcement of the award will be made at the English Department Awards gathering at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in the Niemann Media Theater.
