Professors Jackie Easley and Patty Rieman host Literacy Research Symposium

On June 13, education professors Jackie Easley and Patty Rieman hosted a Literacy Research Symposium titled: “Reclaiming the Sciences of Reading.”

Each summer, the annual symposium is hosted by a different Wisconsin college or university and is affiliated with the Wisconsin State Reading Association (WSRA). The Wisconsin Professors of Literacy are responsible for organizing the symposium, finding funding for and choosing literacy researcher presenters, and working with the WSRA on publicity and registration.

This year’s symposium held at Carthage was attended by 70 literacy educators from Wisconsin and Illinois.
