This week’s featured Beacon Award recipient: Guy Meiss ’58

It’s officially six weeks until Carthage hosts the second annual Beacon Award Ceremony! We’re counting down by featuring one of our six recipients on the Bridge each week.

This week’s featured winner is Guy Meiss ’58 who was an English major from Mount Pleasant, Mich. In November, Central Michigan University inducted Prof. Guy Meiss into its Journalism Hall of Fame for distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the journalism profession. He taught there from 1978 to 2001 and retired as department chair. Nationally, Prof. Meiss held a variety of leadership roles in the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
