A proud graduate of Carthage College with both undergraduate and graduate degrees, Megan Zirbel is excited, honored, and blessed to be a part of the adjunct faculty. She joined the Education Department teaching Assistive and Instructional Technology for Exceptional Learners in summer 2014, and has taught the course in both the masters and ACT programs.

Megan has a wonderful family. Her husband owns his own concrete business and they have a daughter and son. They also have an eleven-year-old chocolate lab named Clover. Her parents are close by, and Megan loves to visit them often. She has a brother, sister-in-law, niece, sister, and two brothers-in-law, all who live near us, and we can visit often.

In addition to her work at Carthage, Megan teaches middle school science and math at Wheatland Center School. She’s coached cheerleading, acted as STEAM coordinator for several years, and worked as the Coordinator for Teacher Mentorship and Development. In the 2023-24 school year, Megan will transition to a new role as Dean of Student Success. She looks forward to the new opportunity and challenge.

In her spare time, Megan loves to read and has set a goal of reading at least one novel per week each year. She also enjoys being outdoors. You can periodically find her fishing, kayaking, or swimming. She has a goal to visit every National Park in her lifetime. This love for travel and nature was inspired by her parents.
