Carthage offers an Accelerated Certification for Teachers and a Master of Education Program (ACT/M.Ed.) for secondary teachers and special education teachers. Students begin with the ACT program and continue on to the M.Ed. program if they do not already hold a master’s degree in education.

The ACT/M.Ed. allows cohorts the opportunity to complete a more comprehensive M.Ed. directly upon completing their initial license requirements, as required by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Several M.Ed. courses are embedded in the program, and students can complete the M.Ed. within one semester upon completing their teaching license requirements.

Earn your ACT/M.Ed. in less than two years!

The ACT/M.Ed. program has rolling enrollment. Candidates who enter the program without a master’s degree can obtain a Wisconsin teaching license and M.Ed. in 1.5 years (with the comprehensive exam option) or two years (with the capstone thesis option). Classes are offered in-person on one weeknight with remote options or asynchronously.
