This short-term study abroad course offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural, historical, and geographic contexts of the literature they study. Each offering focuses on a specific work, author, or movement from the world of English literature and takes place in a location of relevance and importance to the works under study.

This year, we will read “Persuasion,” Jane Austen’s novel of love, the sea, and second chances. The tour will include a week in Bath and a week in London, with excursions to Bristol, Lyme, Hampshire, and Portsmouth.

This course fulfills the CL and ITL requirements.
