How did Carthage prepare you?

“Carthage prepared me for all elements of business because of the College’s extensive curriculum on writing, speaking, communication, and problem-solving. Learning how to properly manage time and to pay attention to detail are also critical factors to success. I am very happy I decided to enroll in Carthage’s business program and double major as it helped me prepare for my MBA.”

“The most important thing I learned at Carthage was time management. Learning how to manage classes, athletics, homework, and social activities is very similar to managing a successful work-life balance. It is important to be committed and results-oriented in your career. Carthage taught me how to balance all of this early on and set goals, which led to early career achievements and promotions.”

Why did you choose Carthage?

“I chose Carthage for many reasons — the small class sizes and having direct access to professors being the most critical. I also enjoyed the beautiful campus next to Lake Michigan, the modern facilities, and being a part of the athletics program. The City of Kenosha has a lot to offer as well.”

What opportunities were made possible because of your Carthage experience?

“Carthage has a great network to leverage. It also builds a great foundation for success given the academic requirements. The knowledge that I was able to gain in my time there has certainly translated well into the real world. The College’s location between Milwaukee and Chicago also presents great opportunity.”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

“Professor Mark Miller and Professor Cathy Duffy had an extremely positive impact on me during my time at Carthage. Being able to learn from both instructors, along with them taking personal interest in my success, made a big difference, and I am very thankful for that.”

“Honesty and integrity are extremely important values in business, along with collaboration and teamwork. Never forget your morals and what allowed you to be successful. Be grateful, appreciative, and thankful to everyone who helped you along the way.”

What's your favorite Carthage memory?

“Some of my favorite memories include hanging out with the basketball team or doing some last-minute studying in the Hedberg Library. I also remember some adventures to Murphy’s or Sunnyside.”

Tips for current Carthage students?
