Spanish
Students in the Spanish program at Carthage are immersed in the language and culture from the first day of classes. Led by dedicated professors and Target Language Experts — native Spanish speakers — the lively courses stretch beyond vocabulary to explore literature, architecture, business, and everyday life so students develop a critical understanding of the nation’s past and present. All majors study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country for at least a semester.
As they progress in their linguistic proficiency and move on to upper division courses even more emphasis is placed on culture — past and present — including literature, film, architecture, politics, business, religion and art, as well as everyday life.
