Apply now for the 2024 Modern Languages Scholarship
Carthage is now accepting applications for Modern Languages Scholarships, which are open to new students who plan to attend in fall 2024!
Ten of these scholarships, each covering $29,000 per year, are available to incoming students who have a desire to acquire a much deeper understanding and appreciation of a specific language and the culture surrounding it. Two are set aside for students who plan to major in Spanish, as well as two each for majors or minors in French, German, and Japanese.
Scholarship Candidates will be invited to take part in a virtual (online) competition Friday, Feb. 9, where they’ll write a short essay and participate in an interview with a faculty member. The application period ends Dec. 3, 2023. To be considered for the Modern Languages Scholarship, you should apply for admission to Carthage and submit the separate scholarship application by the deadline.
Students who decide to pursue a modern language at Carthage will have the opportunity to learn from young, native-speaking faculty members known as Target Language Experts (TLEs). Along with experienced professors, they are hired to teach introductory language and advanced conversation courses.
